Public health institutes are military barracks for fighting disease

Africa needs to strengthen public health institutions

What progress has been made since the Africa Centre for Disease Control and prevention was launched and its mission to manufacture vaccines, pharmaceuticals and medicals products that are needed to secure the health and economic security of countries on the African continent. Dr John Nkengasong the Director of the Africa CDC explains what progress has been made so far and what the challenges that African countries must overcome on their way to realising their aspiration to reduce dependence on others to secure national health.
