On Let's Talk about Health in Africa Lenias Hwenda takes an in-depth look at the state of public health in African countries through one-on-one conversations and roundtable discussions with leaders and change makers from various sectors of the economy that impacts the health of Africans. Leaders, change makers and ordinary people share their insights, analysis and perspectives to help you make sense of the issues affecting the governance of health in Africa, how they are being tackled, whether this is working and what is needed to close the gap between the status quo and meaningful transformation of the lives of Africans.

The African Medicines Agency is coming into effect within weeks

The African Medicines Agency has achieved ratification

Michel Sidibe has criss-crossed the African continent meeting with more than 16 heads of state to get them to sign up to the treaty to establish the African Medicines Agency. Michel Sidibe the African Union Special Envoy to the African Medicines Agency joined us on The HSS Podcast Episode 10, to discuss his take on the significance of having successfully ratified the AMA within moths and how he sees the second health agency of the African Union might evolve after coming into effect, the impact it will have on the production of pharmaceuticals, control of #counterfeited medical products and access to medicines by African people.
